Transition to the Australian Education System

Further studies – Foundation

The International Foundation Program is designed for international students at pre-undergraduate level who do not meet the academic requirements for university overseas. On successful completion of the program, students secure direct entry to MIBT Diploma or Deakin first year level programs.

Further studies - Diploma

On successful completion of your MIBT Diploma and meeting university academic progression criteria, you are eligible for entry into second year of the relevant Deakin University Bachelor degree. As MIBT Diplomas are linked with courses at Deakin University, it is this university to which most of our students transfer. MIBT Diplomas are also recognized by universities throughout Australia for entry into second year or into first year with advanced standing.

English for tertiary study

This course is designed to assist students who need additional English language skills and confidence. The highly practical syllabus provides students with the tools and techniques necessary for studying successfully in English. The primary focus is on the development of academic writing skills, however, as the course follows an integrated-skills approach, it is an excellent opportunity for students to develop and expand their competence in all four macro language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) as well as build relevant academic vocabulary and consolidate English grammar and structure.

Flexible start dates

MIBT offers three trimesters within one calendar year. Trimesters commence in March, June and October. With three intakes per year you can choose to enter a course when it is convenient for you.
